Dirty ,no towels ,noisy , cockroaches.could not wait to leave , my company booked me in for 2 days but rebooked else whe

Dirty , no towels ,cockroach’s what else can I say booked out , rebooked elsewhere. Reported back to my company that it was not fit for human occupancy.rocks thrown over the fence drunks shouting and screaming all night and that was only Monday night when there are no bottlo’s open . Will not be back

Where to start? The rooms are really poor and need extensive revamp. Paid for a Deluxe king, given a tiny horrible double. Curtains falling apart, paint falling off the homemade cupboard doors. Extremely noisy. Voices from outside all night sounded like they were in the room. I like to give honest opinions and unfortunately i think most people will regret staying here. The reviews have to be faked, not an 8, maybe 5 at very best

Has declined like the town itself ... an average to poor motel

I am really disappointed to have to write this review but the decline in the standards of this motel mirrors the sad decline of Alice Springs itself. The photos on teh Elkira Hotel webpage GROSSLY overstate the current standard of the motel.
I used to stay at this hotel pre-COVID on business trips and it was a nice place and good value as it was part of the Golden Chain of motels. I stayed this time on a personal visit because the YHA was not only booked out but the prices there have blown out to motel level prices. Not really a place for backpackers anymore!
It appears that many of the rooms at Elkira have been turned into an emergency or longer term accommodation hostel with a few kept for motel room bookings. The standards of cleanliness in the hotel surrounds and in the room have declined markedly and I would suggest at best a 2 STAR level.
The low standards start at reception which is dirty, stacked with unused furniture and with untrained staff. The grounds had rubbish strewn everywhere and the rooms have not been updated or maintained for some time.
It's unfortunately a very average facility these days.
And just by the way, I have always loved Alice Springs but I was shocked how many shops and facilities were closed, boarded up and there were very few tourists or locals in the streets. I hope it makes a comeback but it'll be a slow climb out from where it is currently.

Noisy, fighting, broken bottles and no sleep.

Stayed 4 Nights. 2 of those nights got zero sleep due to other guests who had zero respect. Fighting, drinking, smashing bottles and a non stop flow of people coming and going out of the gate. Felt like Mogadishu. The staff were very apologetic but bottom line is they should not let Aboriginal people stay there. Next time I will find a different place to stay.

Not Fit For Human Habitation

The dirtiest, unkempt, most disgusting place I have ever stayed in. There was litter under the bed, someone in a review had mentioned this recently, but clearly the comment fell on deaf ears. The bed was the oldest spring bed, toilet squeezed when filling, floors filthy including either gum or bluetac on the floor by the bed, that was black with dirt. The blanket in the cupboard and the bedspread dirty. I used a rowel as a blanket. The bin in the bathroom had an empty shampoo bottle in it. The bedroom bin was emptied back day, but bed only made when they felt like it. 1 review wrote good food. Clearly fraudulent as there is no food there. No sheer curtains and as I was next to the carpark,I had to keed the dirty curtains closed. They lock the gates in the evening, but when returning from dinner they were too stiff to open. I ended up ripping a finger open doing so and have now had 2 trips to the Urgent Care clinic. I could hear the person in the room behind my bed snoring all night. I had to leave and stay elsewhere after a few days. It was too bat to stay in.
