Mostly very good but seems to be some staff shortage/training issues needing attention
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When we arrived by taxi there were several doormen standing around. One opened the door of the hotel for us but no attempt was made to help us with our luggage. As we are both in our 70's I expected some assistance from a hotel of this standard.
Check in was good and although we arrived before the standard check in time luckily our room was ready and we were able to go there immediately which was wonderful.
The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom was great. Having a separate toilet to the rest of the bathroom was also appreciated. We had a view of the Cathedral. Bathrobes and slippers were provided and there was plenty of room for unpacking and storing bags which we have not always found in some other hotels.
We ate in the lounge on the ground floor twice once for lunch and again for supper. The first time there were several tables occupied but only one waitress who was clearly run off her feet so it took a while for her to attend to us and the meals took a while in coming. That said the food was good but a tad on the expensive side. The second time we ate there my husband had to get up and go to the bar at the far end of the lounge to order drinks and food as there was no waiter/waitress in sight. Again there was a fair wait but good when it arrived.
Breakfast was included in our rate. The lady who checked our name and room number was an asset to the hotel in her manner although it was very busy the first morning. It was an extremely good buffet breakfast with any number of choices. I am gluten free and the options for that were very generous with a lot of choice.
The curtains in the room were remote controlled but one side didn't work so we had to open and close them manually. We didn't bother ringing for assistance as it was really no trouble.
We would definitely stay here again.

Great value for points redemption for Bonvoy elites
Room – Booked on points and the NUA cleared into a Club Suite (105SqM), 2308, was such a treat for 2pax – the space was crazy big. King bed and spacious living area was such a treat and it was really nice to get a great view of the neighbourhood from the wall to floor ceiling.
Executive Lounge - very quiet off-hours, with non-alcoholic drinks and snacks available all day. Evening cocktails is served for 5:30pm-7:30pm and the team is quite strict on closing hours – they literally put a padlock on the alcohol fridge at 7:30pm but they do go table to table announcing last calls prior so that was fine. x evenings and saw a rotation of hot mains, salads, sandwiches, and light bites together with cheese and cold cuts and desserts which I thought was okay as dinner.
Breakfast at Garum was great and offers up curated healthy dishes which you don't typically see at other hotels.
All in, great value for use of 35k Free Night Certs!

Room was big and very clean upon checking in. The location is right at Murray Street which made it very convenient to find food, last minute shopping etc. Will stay here again for my next business trip.

Horrifying drop in standard
OMG could not believe the drop in standard since my last stay, no longer any good at all. In fact you are lucky to get your bed made. Dead plants in not just one or two, but the majority of pot plants, peeling wall paper, menu for the expensive spa totally tattered and dirty, and when you put your hand deep in your pocket for a good bottle of expensive French champagne, you expect the wine waiter might actually know how to open a bottle of champagne. The icing on the cake was when I lodged a few justifiable complaints, management very kindly sent me a little, like a cup cake, sweet treat to our room, it was accompanied by a knife and fork so big one would have thought it was accompanying a big tough TBone steak, not a delicate sweet morsel. Most of the staff have no idea what they are doing. If you pay peanuts and get peanuts well that is fair, but this was a disaster and I am not going back! No one cared less...

I felt that the cleaning was not good enough.
Three nights from 3/21. Stay at Marriott Bonvoy points. I had them upgraded to a suite. When I wash my hands in the guest room sink after check-in, the water doesn't flow easily. That's funny. When I removed the pulp from the drain, I felt disgusting because my hair and debris were clogged in a mud-like state. It wasn't like I forgot to clean it yesterday, it was a stain that had been left there for a long time. There was also a feeling of service degradation on the hard side, such as the electric blinds in the bedroom not moving.
