Great Views of the city, Average comfort
Almudena was a very nice hotel for La Paz, and we stayed on the 4th floor which had amazing views over the city. Apartment was very spacious, and by and large the staff was helpful (especially the night shift guy - who was lovely). Breakfast on the first day included scrambled eggs, which was nice, but then for the rest of the stay it was not offered. Breakfast included yoghurt, breads, muesli/cereal, fresh juices and coffee. The hotel was walking distance to the Yellow Teleferico line, which was pretty convenient as we would walk down to the Teleferico and then get a taxi back up hill. The beds were not comfortable, and the hot water for the shower was limited. We ended up putting the duvet down and then the sheet on top, which made it slightly better. The hotel was very helpful when our friend fell ill, and had to stay an extra couple of days - and they charged her less for the same room. The hotel was also helpful in getting taxis organised for us. Overall it was a good stay, in what appeared to be a safe neighbourhood.

Quality decrease over time
I’m a very frequent guest…or was at least. It’s a big shame to see how much has the quality reduced BUT the price maintained. The SAME towels are literally used after 8 years and you will feel how old and hard they are. Not a single working lamp although the staff tell you they do. Management vastly reduced the lighting of the rooms (I guess for light saving and that should be good)
We had some trash bins with garbage from previous guests (tell me that’s not uncomfortable)
Staff was not kind when we asked for heating OR blankets.
And last but not least, no more free soap nor full breakfast.
Just what they can find on their fridge.
Apart hotel nevertheless BUT I think you can find better options for the same price range

Good choice if you can get one of the best rooms
Apartment for 2 pers june 2018 price 76 USD breakfast included
Positive point of view: apartments 301 401 501 and 601 are VERY COMFORTABLE with good beds, MUCH SPACE and a really FANTASTIC VIEW on La Paz and the Cordillera Real. The other apartments are either smaller or without the nice view, this difference is really important. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. Nice breakfast with fresh fruits.
Negative point of view: hot water is provided by individual gas warmer not powerful enough. So the shower is not hot; you have to lower the water flow to get hot water but if you lower too much it would stop heating... We tried two apartments (601 and 301). Soundproofing is average.
I stayed some days more. It was possible as the hotel was not fully booked. I did not ask for the price (I should have) and they charged me more than if I had added these days with booking.com; not nice.
Finally I would say this hotel is a good choice if you can get one of the best rooms

A great place to rest in La Paz
The flat had a great view of La Paz. The people of the hotel are very kind and willing to help. The location of the place is in quiet place, far from the noisy streets of the city center. Breakfast is included!

Almudena - Over Priced Hotel with amateurish Service
I stayed here because of the good reviews on Trip Advisor. However, I did not experience anything exceptional in this hotel.
This hotel is overpriced in my opinion, especially if you book for 1 guest. They advertise various promotions for guests, but try as much as possible to deny providing the same. Very disappointing.
I booked in a hurry, but realised later there are many other hotels that provide better value for money. Hotel is located in .Sopocachi. The taxi drivers find it very hard to locate. Almost every time I returned to the hotel, I had to needlessly waste my time and money sitting inside, whilst the taxi drivers looked for the hotel.
Except for one lady, the staff at the reception seem to be immature, and have a very poor knowledge of English. One feels that they are trying to be helpful, but lack the professionalism and the communication skills. I was exhausted trying to obtain information from these amateurs, and simply gave up.
There was no hot water in the wash basin and bathtub in the toilet, which was a real problem since the water was very cold. The cutlery and crockery in the pantry were not properly washed.
The WIFI speed was o.k in the living room, but not satisfactory inside the bed room.
For me, the décor in the room looks gaudy. It seems so out of place. I had to remind myself that I was in South America and not in the Middle East. The hotel is far from charming, at least in my view.
Another irritating thing I experienced was that the cleaning staff had removed my partially used drink bottles. Another sign of untrained people at work.
