Amazing hostel in great location, perfect for your stay in Fukuoka.

HafH Fukuoka THE LIFE was a great hostel in the middle of Fukuoka and we'd highly recommend. The private room we had was spacious and came with our own private bathroom as well. The bed is very big and super comfortable. We really loved the breakfast too which we didn't include in our booking but ended up ordering almost every morning, so if you have to option we'd recommend including this.
The staff spoke great English and were super helpful and always super friendly when we entered the reception/cafe area. The cafe would be a great place for someone who would want to work remotely from Fukuoka with great food options (as already mentioned) and good coffee too.
The hostel is located about a 15 minute walk away from the bus/train station which for us wasn't a problem but something to take into account. You could take another local bus though if you didn't want to walk. We did really love the location though as there so much to do and see in the area. Perfect for shopping next door in Canal City, great food at the small Yatai or food stalls that Fukuoka is famous for and bus stops around the corner that can take you to other parts of the city easily.
It would've been great to have laundry service or machines inside but the staff actually walked us to one outside that was pretty nearby.

Great Staff

Well located, nice layout, great common area upstairs and down and best of all..the Staff..Yumiko and her team were just fab..so helpful with great local knowledge. nothing is too much trouble..highly recommended..

Comfortable

I was very lucky to be given a lower bunk in the far corner of a corner room on the second floor. The place was clean and tidy, with good facilities. The curtains and partition boards also provided adequate privacy. There were a mirror, a lamp and an extra socket in each bunk, which was pretty handy. Hairdryers were available in the shared bathrooms and restrooms.
The hostel is about 10 minutes' walk from Hakata station, but it is easy to locate, and is very close to the Canal City. There is a post office nearby. Recommended.

Pretty Common Areas

It is conveniently located near Hakata Station, around 5-10mins walk. Convenience store, supermarket and malls were nearby. The ambiance of the place was really nice. Staff were accommodating enough. The common areas are very nice and it can induce a nice conversation with your fellow travelers.
The 6-bed dormitory room feels so cramped. I think it was more spacious on the larger dormitories based on their floor plan. I don't like the fact that you had to make your own bed given the space that was provided. This is the most expensive hostel I've ever stayed to but I don't think it brought value for my money. It was not as clean as other hostels. The bed that was assigned to me has litters. The maintenance of the shower rooms are not very frequent. There was no towel rack or place to hang your clothes while taking a shower.

Bad food service

Rooms are very small and cramped. Beds are pretty nice.
Food is average and they’ve stuffed up my order twice. Waited an hour for food to come only to hear they ran out and asked if I wanted anything else. Service system for food is bad.
