Quiet room - but noisy balcony.
Tip: don’t arrive too late.
The host, Alessandro and Carmen, were very frienly and created a great atmosphere among the guests.
We chose a room with private bath, but missed opportunities to dry wet towels. The room was very clean and you could choose to have it made up as ofren as needed.
Katanka is situated in a big villa in a wealthy villa neighbourhood. Good location in between the old Las Palmas and the beach area - and easy access to many restaurants.
We enjoied to sit on the balcony on first floor or in the garden. However the heavy traffic in the streets was quite noisy except during the weekend. This didn’t affekt the quiet room 😁.
All in all very good value for the money.

Very cozy and relaxing guest house.
The service provided to the guest is nice and easy, simple but very effective: all you need, without stress. Perfect room cleanings, rich and varied breakfast (and very good coffee!!!!, if this is an important topic for you ; )
Alex and his family are very pleasant people, discreet but always available for their guests, they can give you a lot of tips about what to visit on the island and in the city.
I live in Tenerife and I guess I will soon visit again Gran Canaria - I will choose The Katanka again as my corner of peace on my next trip. Highly recommended for all kind of travellers!

Poor service but kind of nice place...
Guesthouse is located by a very busy main road so even late in the evening relaxing at the terrace was almost imposible. All in all decor was rather cheap but had it charm however the host (Alejandro) should study some people skills and how to run a guesthouse.
All in all it was almost acceptable but would never go there again.
