Visita Málaga

I wanted to leave relevance of the friendliness of the reception, my son left the ID and told me right away the truth q is to be thanked, central hostel opposite the train station, ideal to be able to visit Malaga without taking the car since q has everything very close beach monuments etc... without hesitation I would book again. I hope my opinion serves other customers.

Convenient unscheduled stop

After a delayed flight and a missed last bus to my destination I needed an overnight stop. I was able to book a single room for one night and this place is just opposite Maria Zambrano rail and bus stations. The room was very small and had only one window in the bathroom, but as I arrived just before midnight and left before 9 the next day this wasn't important. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The receptionist didn't speak much English, but was welcoming. I'm not sure I would stay here longer and would want a nicer room if I did, but it was all I needed for my stay. There are lots of nearby cafes and bars serving food and drink for different budgets.

convenience, friendly and economical

This is my second time staying here. It's so convenient to the train station where both the commuter rail to the airport and the Renfe trains are located. I was pleasantly surprised that my room for one had been recently renovated in a clean, Nordic style: twin bed, nightstand, stool-bench, with built-in closet, wall-hung tv, and overhead heat or cooling. The bathroom is small, newly renovated and very clean, the shower had plenty of hot water. The front desk person speaks enough English to be helpful - perhaps more but I was out the door to explore! The reception is up a flight of stairs, but a simple ring of the bell and there was someone to carry my over-sized luggage up the stairs (and down the stairs upon check-out).

Disappointed

I do not write as a rule negative reviews. But I felt very disappointed with how I was dealt with by Hostal La Hispanidad and Booking.com. I cannot complain about the room or the cleanliness at all. What was upsetting for me is that whilst the staff were very helpful with my bags etc as there is no lift here and I am not young. I was out of courtesy given the first room by the reception which I initially was grateful for. I had travelled and had hoped for a restful afternoon but there were staff smoking outside the room which I was able to let go of and that there were travelers booking in was to be expected but this continued into the early hours. All I could have overlooked because the staff were so helpful but what I have found really difficult is this “cancellation fee” scam which not alone did not tell me on the booking.com that I was going to be subject to one this money was immediately withdrawn from my account with no recipient and with no information being passed onto me. I would not have changed the booking if I had known. This is a very easy, quick and soul-less way to make money on people’s mistakes. I could accept the cancellation fee but not being informed and not having calls returned from booking.com has left a bitter taste. It wont happen again. I do not know when it became OK to withdraw money from someone’s bank account without their permission and with out letting them know. Not customer service.

If Two stars hotels are like this we should not look for other categories

Perfect location. Everything new and extremely clean and well organized. Really a wonderful choice we made in a large group trying to keep a low budget.
Rooms might be considered a bit small in case you need to stay int he room all day long and work but if not no alternative could bit this.
