Hidden gem on east side of Indy!

Found this wonder State Park Inn on TripAdvisor. Excellent choice! Well cared for, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, clean quote room.
It is undergoing some renovations so outside has a lot of scaffolding currently so that takes a. It away from the beauty of the building.
Typical hotel buffet breakfast was good and hot. Liked the waffles one day and biscuits and gravy the next. Will go back!

Fort Harrison officers house 506

This review is for one of the officers house #506. We had a family gathering on Indy 500 weekend. If you are planning on preparing meals you will need to bring every item including utensils bowls pans foil salt pepper trash bags.sponges cleaning soap etc. only 1 large knife and 3 forks. The bathrooms were okay. The beds were okay no bedside lamps and no electrical outlets near bed for your phone. very weird configuration as each room had 2 queen beds but they removed doors? No privacy especially the downstairs bedroom as it faced into living room there are TVs in every bedroom and living room but they are of poor quality no outdoor seating I guess we were accustomed to Airbnb setup which this is not. But the price was good and The golf course was beautiful !

Home away from Home

This is my second stay at the Inn. As my son lives in the area - I was seeking a location close to him. I also stayed at one of the local chains but find myself coming back here to the Inn.
My husband and I stayed in one of the deluxe rooms and it was so nice and big - a sunny enclosed porch with loads of windows and light made it even more enjoyable. My son came by and joined us for a couple of hours - hanging out in the room - eating a little carry-in food at the huge dining table in the sun room.
I love this historical aspect of this little area and the Inn. There was even a wedding last night and it was fun getting a glimpse of the beautiful gowns too.
Staff is always so welcoming and helpful.
I have made a return reservation for June and plan to stay here going forward when I’m visiting. Highly recommend staying here and enjoying both history and beauty of the state park.

Not your typical state park lodge

This was a pleasant surprise! The room was huge and beautifully furnished. The inn is an historic building, but the bathroom was modern and well equipped. The desk and breakfast staff were very welcoming and helpful. Wish I could have stayed longer.
