A perfect meal

A very nice discovery with the family this evening. Everything was perfect, the jovial and warm welcome, the cozy setting, the atmosphere and above all the delicious dishes which will delight young and old alike... a well-deserved star.
We will come back.

wheelchair accessible hotel

we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was perfect for wheelchair use and the staff were very friendly and nice with a delicious breakfast. La Wanzenau is a great base for visiting Strasbourg and outlying villages. Good parking at the hotel

Would not return

We stayed one night as part of a 2 week cycling holiday along the Rhine.We had booked months in advance and requested secure storage overnight for our bikes (very expensive,and also our only form of transport)when we arrived we were shown in to the back yard of the hotel and told to place the bikes against a hedge, we requested to put them undercover in a lean to shed but,this was refused.We were handed the room key and sent upstairs along a very dark corridor,fumbling for light switches as we went.i believe the room was described as "cosy" I will commit that one to memory,"tiny"is more appropriate.the window did open,but was out on to the main street,which was busy all night despite being a quiet village.fortunately the church bells didn't ring every quarter hour throughout the night but did start again at 7am and because of the lack of air con,we had to keep the window open.the shower was good but en suite tiny and no hairdryer..or fridge,or tea and coffee in the room.,..how can you charge eyewatering Michelin star prices for food and room and not provide basic nessesities when rooms half the price, and twice as big do. When we left,we requested access to our bikes,we were told to go to the gate on the street,it was open,we never saw the receptionist again.very poor service.

Very disappointing

While you do not expect AC in Europe for the most part, you to expect fans to cool the room. Further, the window did not open fully and the TV never worked in spite of our complaints. Not recommended.

Disappointing

We booked this hotel during our visit to Strasbourg Xmas market. We were greeted by a lady who kindly gave us our key, sent us to room 1 with no help with our bags or even any information. We have only been married one month and thought we might get a decent room.We were given a room in the basement, which was cold (as windows had been left open in -2 weather conditions), disabled bathroom and generally very tired and shabby looking. Furthermore, the bed had two single duvets! It was a complete joke. On top of that - the bathroom door was a glass sliding door so no privacy when trying to use the toilet! Absolutely horrible!
We also asked the lady if we could have a glass in the bar and were told blankly that it wasn’t possible! Very commercial of them! Also when we asked to change room - apparently that is the quality of the standard rooms! We didn’t even stay for breakfast as I wanted to leave! Furthermore as we were leaving they offered us complimentary breakfast which we refused and then told us that we could have a 20 Euro discount so instead of it being 140 euros it was 120 euros. Whilst standing at the check out desk I noticed a board that stated the room should have been 120 euros anyway so no discount was really applied. In general a rather disappointing stay.
