Paradise in Rhodes
Super welcoming owners. Do everything to give you the best possible holiday.
Spacious rooms with comfortable beds.
Very pleasant pool with fine sun loungers.
But what deserves the highest score for us are breakfast and dinner. For us really the best hotel in terms of meals we have already had. Lots of choice in real Greek meals and really every time a party to sit at the table. also the breakfast was really super tasty. Always a sweet dish, tasty bread, an egg of your choice and delicious Greek yogurt. Thank you for your hospitality! We would love to come back to your little paradise in Rhodes.

Excellent hotel and delicious food
Excellent value for money.
A family-run hotel, the owners are very approachable, friendly and super helpful, they speak perfect English.
A hotel made up of very large apartments complete with kitchen (complete with everything, induction hob, large fridge, American coffee maker, bread toaster, kettle and all accessories for cooking and eating) with dining room and lounge, bedroom (with king bed, very comfortable mattress, air conditioning, wardrobe and safe), bathroom with shower (they also provide a phone) and balcony with drying rack. Each window of the apartments is equipped with a mosquito net. Shampoo, soap and bar soap are provided; Beach towels; towels and bathroom carpet are changed every day. The rooms are cleaned and tidied up every day, the sheets (except in cases of necessity) are replaced every 3 days.
Large, spotlessly clean swimming pool with very comfortable loungers.
But now let's talk about food which is the thing that has remained in our hearts the most. We chose the half board formula (not buffet).
Breakfast: super abundant and very tasty. Every morning a basket of two varieties of bread is brought to the table (with jams, Nutella, honey and butter), a main course (which varies every day, pancakes, crepes, French toast and much more), other sweets which also they vary every day, possibility of choosing between coffee, tea etc. and on request possibility of eggs and delicious Greek yogurt.
Dinner: super abundant and delicious. Even this non-buffet dinner is made up of a salad (Greek, tuna, cesar salad, etc.. etc..), an appetizer, slices of bread toasted with oil and a sauce (these also vary every day ), a main course that is chosen à la carte by the guest (every day in addition to the main menu there are also 3/4 proposals of the day) and a dessert (this also varies every day).
Excellent quality of food, all very fresh and cooked to perfection. Super generous portions for both breakfast and dinner.
In the event that a dish is not finished (it never happened to us because everything was too good) there is the possibility of taking it to the room and eating it later so as not to waste food.
Water included in the price, other drinks, wine, beer to be paid extra. Possibility to order other food from the menu by paying extra (still super cheap prices).
We didn't need it but other guests with children were provided with a high chair for meals. In case of necessity it is possible to dine in the room.
Free parking 50 meters from the hotel.
Location: a stone's throw from an equipped beach, many restaurants in the area, supermarket right behind (just cross the road), strategic position about 10 minutes from the airport, about 15 minutes from the center of Rhodes and about 20/30 minutes from most beautiful beaches.
Quiet area. Given the proximity to the airport, every now and then you can hear some planes but with the windows closed it is very soundproof and does not cause any discomfort (we actually slept with the window open and we couldn't hear any noises at night)
What can I say if we return to Rhodes we will definitely return to the Platoni Elite.
Even after check out we were offered the opportunity to use bathrooms and showers.
And we were able to check in earlier than the time indicated by booking.
We thank the owners for their availability and kindness and above all for the very welcome and tasty gift they gave us at check out.
I attach photos of food, room etc..

Book it.
Location - Platoni Elite is 15 minutes on a bus from the airport and 15 minutes from the iconic Old Town. This was great for us because we didn’t want to have to travel too far once we’d been on a flight for four hours and we didn’t want to travel far for a day of exploring. The hotel/apartments itself are set back slightly from the main road which bodes well for peaceful sleeping! Directly opposite the hotel is a big supermarket so you can easily stock up on essentials and you can pack light and buy some stuff there. The bus network is reliable, cheap and quick so I’d recommend using buses rather than wasting money on taxis. You can pay €3 a journey in cash to the driver.
Hotel itself - comprised of both rooms and apartments. Our apartment is beautifully presented and really clean (cleaner visits everyday and provides fresh towels). There is lots of space and a large balcony, powerful shower with essential toiletries and a very comfortable bed. Air con is great too!
The grounds have a large pool (always clean) and a small kids pool. Sun beds are plentiful and you’ll be given a pool towel when you arrive so no need to pack one! There is a small garden area too. The grounds are kept clean, tidy and there’s enough space for everyone staying without it being too “resorty” or generic.
Restaurant - I can’t express greatly enough how amazing the food and service is here. For a start, portion sizes are so generous that it’s near impossible to eat an appropriate amount, unless you have a lot of willpower which I don’t! As we’ve learnt from one of our lovely hosts, Greek culture shows love and appreciation by serving big portions and lots of yummy food and by that standard, we felt a lot of love while we’ve been here. We opted for the bed and breakfast option for our booking and the breakfast was the best we’ve had anywhere in the world. We were treated everyday to fresh breads, jams, honey, chocolate spread, a fresh variety of cut fruit with either fluffy pancakes or French toast or loukoumades (Greek donuts) AND then any form of fresh eggs AND fresh pastries. The omelettes are delicious! We left the breakfast table everyday ready to burst and extremely satisfied.
For lunch (which we only managed to have two days out of seven because of the breakfast keeping us full) - I highly recommend the gyros. Best quality gyros we’ve seen and eaten on the island - even the chips are fresh and homemade! The lunch salads are also massive and filling.
Dinner - is served between 1700-2230 each day. Every single meal we ate was perfect. Each day, we were presented with fresh breads with a delicious homemade dip and then a homemade greek taster dessert after our main meal. The main meals were never disappointing. Fresh meat, fish, moussaka, pasta - all served with a tasty fresh salad and rice or homemade chips. The normal menu is extensive enough and they also have 2 or 3 specials each day too.
The service on the whole is very friendly and relaxed. They find the perfect balance between good service but not over imposing. It’s seems fairly normal practice to keep food on the table for grazing instead of the UK style of clearing the plates as soon as you put your fork down. We preferred this so we could keep picking!
Hosts -
The hotel is run by a Greek family and they all contribute towards making it a fantastic place to stay.
There are three siblings - Marianthe, Yiannis and Stratos. I’m not sure that Marianthe ever sleeps! She is the breakfast queen and is responsible for making the best breakfast you’ll ever have. She also serves the evening dinner and makes sure you want for nothing. She even taught my partner how to correctly debone a fish when she saw that he was about to eat a mouthful of bones! She’s charming and engaging with an excellent sense of humour.
Yiannis is the head chef. He is insanely talented and obviously well educated in his trade. Again, his sense of humour is great and his lovely dog Kokonis is a great little assistant who keeps the animal loving guests happy. Stratos is always smiling and incredibly kind. Stratos serves breakfast every morning and nothing is too big of an ask. The siblings parents are frequent friendly visitors who always say hello and help out if the restaurant is busy.
We are so grateful to have been hosted by this wonderful family! It’s a good sign when everyone else in the hotel has been here before and people from other hotels were coming to Platoni during the day because “they prefer it here”.
Animals - the hotel is animal friendly. Rhodes sadly has many stray cats and the hotel do their best to look after them. As such, expect to see lots of lovely cute kittens and cats wandering around. For us, it was a pleasure to see them being looked after and watch them play with each other. Kokonis the family dog is a small gentle boy who can also be seen occasionally wandering around. If you’re an animal lover then you’ll love this place. If you can tolerate animals then you’ll still enjoy it, just don’t engage with them and they will leave you alone. If you really hate animals then you probably don’t deserve to stay in such a beautiful place anyway (ha!).
