For Jammu this place is good

Jammu is not a city I would like to stay in again - it has very little to see, is dirty and dusty but without the charm of many cities in India, and there is no internet connection anywhere, meaning telling others your whereabouts is a bit difficult.
However Hotel Green View is pretty decent, the staff were helpful, and provided good information on what I needed to do to get to Srinagar the next day. The room was decent, 500 rupees for a fan room, and I believe it was 1000 rupees for an air-con room. The shower was cold, but the room had a TV with decent channels which made passing the time easier. The reception also had a drinks cabinet with water etc meaning you didn't have to leave the hotel if you needed a drink for the night.
Overall Jammu's not great, but if you're staying there overnight you could do a lot worse than here.

Great service - simply okay rooms

Jammu is not a city where many people spend a lot of time. Unfortunately, we were forced to because of stomach problems and got stuck in Green View for three nights. Our feelings were somewhat ambiguous, as we were feeling pretty unwell, and had a fan that stopped working somewhere in the morning of our first night... we switched to another room, and incredibly, the same thing happened. We got put back in our first room, in which they had repaired the fan in the mean time.
The manager was very friendly and helpful and we didn't blame him for the electronic malfunctioning, so ended up feeling like this was a pretty decent place to spend the night in Jammu.
