Not my first choice of a place to stay
We spent a week here with two of us in a pretty small room (maybe 3m x 3m with a 1.5 m x 2 m entry area) with a single full size bed. Even though it is provided as a two person room it's really a one person room* with an extra pillow and extra set of towels. There isn't room for two pieces of luggage on the floor. There's 5 hangers in a tiny closet. We ended up pulling the bed out from the wall every night, making a 30 cm passage so the person on the wall side didn't have to climb over the other person to turn out the light or get up in the middle of the night.
I got used to Japanese bathrooms but I have to say this was one of the smallest, and I am not even a large person. I mostly remember the toilet being wedged in there pretty tightly and at an inconvenient angle (I spare you the details).
The facilities are somewhat dated and showing wear and staining. Our hair drier didn't work properly. There is a hot water kettle and a tiny room refrigerator so you can run to local places to get food.
We mostly stayed at hostels and dormitory style guesthouses during our trip to Japan and this place was both more pricey (I believe we were paying US$120 here vs. $US70 for two at hostels), as another person puts it, "drab", and we had less room than in many hostel type places. This is a "hotel" and staying here was part of the context of our visit to Ibaraki but we stayed at nicer (and cheaper) dormitory style guesthouses (some of which even had private rooms for couples+).
*To be fair I believe there are two bed, two person rooms but they are even more pricey.
Tip: There's a large AEON mall about 10 minutes walk away. Go right out of the hotel, walk to the next main road and go right again to the next really main road and then left. Go another 5 minutes or so. Food courts are on the top floor.
Tip: The hotel will do laundry for you at a per-item cost but there's also coin machines (soap provided) on the second or third floor near the elevators.
Observation: I was a bit disconcerted to come back to our room during cleaning time for our floor to find the door propped open but nobody in sight. There's no safes or lockers in the room and while Japan is fairly low-crime one still may need to leave semi-valuables in the room while out for the day.
Observation: For our room they would only provide us with a single key despite there being two people in the room.

Drab.
The room was very small for the price, with massive dirt marks on the peeling paper and paint chipped all around the door frames.
As for the bathroom, it is a drop in cubicle containing a lavatory, sink and bath/shower not much bigger than a telephone box.
The beds were adequate to firm.
The rather dog-earred complaints form had a new Japlish verbal gem, you could choose between Excellent. and Unexellent----magic, the highlight of the stay.
