Most spacious and comfortable hotel in Japan
Location was a short walk from Gion with easy access to relevant bus stops to get around Kyoto.
Would definitely stay here again.

This is not a hotel...
The rooms are quite spacious and abundantly equipped, with instructions in English that are sometimes unsuitable (I was unable to use the microwave oven, the instructions being for another model; and I had difficulty finding the wifi network to connect to, the titles and frequencies having changed since the guide was written). I haven't tried using the washing machine.
Soundproofing is limited but the street is quiet, close to many interesting places.
Ultimately, a possibility of spending a few days in Kyoto without breaking the bank and without camping in a container.
