The dinner was the best during our three nights' stay in Sado.

We wanted to stay in Ogi to explore the old port town of Shukunegi. We chose this ryokan as it was among those recommended by Niigata Tourist Bureau. We were expecting a traditional ryokan and were surprised to see a Western style exterior. Reception was on the right of the entrance hall with a very high ceiling. We were asked if dinner at 18:30 and breakfast at 7:30 was OK to which we said yes. We received the key to our room which faced the inner lawn. It was a warm day, so we went to enjoy the onsen bath before dinner. The inner onsen bath appeared a bit tired but was well maintained. The open air bath is not large but was very relaxing. We were surprised at the dinner which was better than the larger ryokans we had stayed in Sado. It was composed of really fresh local seafood. The futon bed was comfortable enough. Breakfast served in a different room was basic but healthy and good enough. Good place to stay if you are not expecting the service level of a traditional ryokan.

Not bad for a quick stop over

Stayed there for one night so I could try out the tub boat experience. It was only a short easy walk from the ferry terminal/bus stop. There's a supermarket along the way, which was handy as I didn't see any other convenient stores near the ryokan.
Room itself was basic and clean. My room was on the top and it was close to the main road so it was a bit noisy. There weren't many people staying at the time and the shared toilet was right opposite to my room, which was handy.
Many locals came to use the onsen so it could get busy there. There's a small smoking area near reception, which was slightly unpleasant, especially if after a bath. I waited till the locals were done before using the onsen and sauna and it was very relaxing.
Breakfast was served on time and a basic simple Japanese meal. Can't complain as the accommodation cost was relatively cheap, so can't expect the meal to be the same as some of the other more fancy ryokans.
Overall was a pleasant stay for me. If you are after something basic, this is ok. If you are after something more tradition or more than basic, or looking to have more interaction or warmer friendly service, you may want to consider other options.

普通に満足できる温泉宿

大人4名で小佐渡の手頃な温泉宿に泊まりたいと予約しました。両極端な口コミと、裏の車道側からの外見に多少心配になりましたが杞憂に終わりました。大浴場は浴槽がきちんと掃除されていて、湯垢が気になることはなく、内湯、露天風呂、サウナと楽しめました。夕食は仕切られた和室で海産物を楽しめました。シーズンではありませんでしたが、蟹も美味しく食べられましたし、珍しい亀の手の味噌汁も美味しく食べられました。部屋や食堂は冷房が効いていましたが、廊下が暑く、薮蚊もいました。ハイシーズンだったので、値段的には少し高いかな
とは思いましたが、普通料金ならば問題のない普通の温泉旅館です。

温泉満喫

サウナもあり露天も広々していて、ゆったりと温泉を満喫できました
白米も美味しいし、子どもも沢山食べました
二階の部屋でトイレは相向かいにあったので不自由はありませんでした
冷蔵庫もあって便利でした

立ち寄り湯で利用しました

佐渡の温泉は初めてです。建物は暖炉がありジャズが流れ良い雰囲気です。温泉は露天と内湯がありました。温度がぬるい為かなりゆっくり入りました。洗い場は人が結構いたのて狭く感じましたが綺麗でした。この温度が500円くらいで入れるのは満足です。
