Surprisingly good, understated hotel
This was a surprisingly nice hotel kind of in the middle of nowhere. Kuala Pilah doesn't have many hotel options, which is a shame since the nearby Seri Menanti palace is a worthy stop on a road trip (there is a hotel in Seri Menanti itself but apparently you have to book it old school, i.e. actually call them on the telephone).
Anyway, Melang is reasonably priced given you get a spacious room, which comes across as being furnished only with the essentials but for those essentials, they're done well. There's definitely room to increase the star rating with additions in future, without being held back by the architecture. The rooms wrap around a centre atrium at the bottom of which is a leafy water feature, which was quite pleasant. The staff are generally relaxed and friendly too.
The hotel is located within a small commercial area, and it seems sometimes there's a decent night market on your doorstep, but it doesn't bother you when you're in the room (e.g. noise-wise).

Okay for a short Trip
Stayed for 3 nights. it was a decent hotel. Mainly caters for government officials and events. So it was busy mostly at night due to this events. Rooms were decent. The room had a large balcony with tables outside. Housekeeping was good. The only . issue i had was the cafe was closed due to MCO, So no breakfast provided, but there were ample of restaurants and cafes in walking distance. Parking is limited. !st come 1st serve basis. So late comer need at the non hotel parking. Payable to the municipal

work remotely
I was visiting my family in seri menanti (August 2019). I live and work in Chicago. I felt the comfort and the service at Melang Inn are somewhat equivalent to the services by most American hotels. The internet connection also was OK, I was able to work remotely connecting to the corporate network in USA from KP :-)

Decent Hotel
Stayed in Melang Inn for a 2 week placement in Kuala Lilah. Overall Melang Inn provided a decent place to stay with adequate facilities. However it lacks a laundry service which would have been nice to have.

1 night stay
Work brought me to this small town. Appreciate the early check in given eventho i didn't request for it since i'm well aware that standard check in time is at 3pm. Went there early just to register first so that i can collect the key later after i finish my work. The process was quick and the reception staff was very helpful, warm and friendly. Since it is rainy season, i'm also superglad that the hot water is functioning. I had a long good one after a tiring day at work. The room was spacious, bed and pillows were comfy and the cafe in front of the hotel served tasty and affordable food. Overall i had a pleasant stay even it was just for 1 night. Good job to all the staffs for the hospitality.
