Great location, great experience

This is a great hotel. Centrally located with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, Fairway is the ideal base for discovering Colombo and, if you're on a short holiday like I was, taking trips to different parts of the country. The hotel overall (including the room) is clean, light and airy, as well as well decorated. What really made the stay for me was the overall friendliness of the staff, who always had smile on their face and were ready to help at the drop of a hat. There might be higher end hotels in Colombo, but they would have to go a long way to offer the value and welcome that you will get here. Can't say much about the amenities beyond the restaurant, but a great atmosphere and experience all round. Highly recommended.

Terrible Experience – Couldn’t Sleep All Night

It’s currently 12:52 AM, and our room has been shaking since 8 PM because of a loud band playing right outside our window. We called reception, and they told us it would only be another 30 minutes. We were also told that the band had permission to play, which makes it even more frustrating that guests are expected to tolerate this noise late into the night. This is a horrible way to end our trip to Sri Lanka. We have an 11-hour flight tomorrow and were hoping for a peaceful last night, but instead we’re wide awake, exhausted, and extremely disappointed. Definitely not the relaxing stay we expected.

Don't use this city hotel if you have a choice!

Aside from it's central location, this has a sterile ambience. Most suited to a business meeting place. Rooms are clean & functional but the food at dinner was cold & the breakfast ran out of coffee & most dishes by 8.30am. My worst experience in a Sri Lankan hotel.

Clean and comfortable

This is a very good hotel. Although the publicity mentions robots there are plenty of helpful humans as well, so do not be afraid that you will not be looked after.
The food was good, with buffet breakfast and buffet dinner and plenty of vegetarian options.
Unfortunately it is in a very noisy area.
