Beautiful stay in the Oaks Residence.

We were 9 people staying in the Oaks Residence and cannot get over how amazing it was.
We took our own food to cook and we had every appliance we could have needed.
You get your own hot tub with and sauna, the area around the house is very quiet and private.
To get to the spa we called reception and were sent a little bus to and from the spa which was brilliant, the staff driving these were great fun.
Any issues we had (needed a new robe at one stage) was no problem getting a one.
One of the shower head was broken and a tap was slightly broken but didn’t dampen our experience.
The Oaks Residence was expensive but split between us all was absolutely 10000% worth it.
The spa is absolutely outstanding, it’s mostly outside and is so beautiful and open. Cannot wait to get back to the Galgorm in general

Beautiful cottages....will return but drinks prices let ut down badly.

As there are 3 of us we booked a 2 bedroom cottage. Check in is literally in a hut.Considering this a 5 star hotel with matching prices there should be a proper check in area as it felt like arriving at a caravan park.( which would be fine if we were). When you walk in the main hotel entrance you do get a sense that they only want hotel residents in that area as you get jumped on immediately to ask where you are staying etc Anyway cottages are really lovely, very comfortable beds, pillows etc.Lovely fluffy towels.Carpet could definitely do with a clean but apart from that spotless.Beware of the glass top on coffee table, it slides with the slightest touch and resulted in a few minor but sore cuts. All staff around cottage area were lovely and very helpful. Spa area is very nice and we were lucky it wasnt busy either day we were there.Drinks prices are however off the scale and mocktails are a low standard for £12.20.We knew this before we arrived and expected it but it seems they have increased more.Hard to justify. Having stayed the 3 previous nights in a 5 star resort in southern Ireland we are aware that you pay more in a hotel of a certain standard. As a result the main bar of the hotel was almost empty except for 2/3 other guests on the evenings we went there.I imagine if the prices came down to acceptable level that would increase the footage in the bar.Breakfast was nice and again staff were very pleasnt.Overall is certainly is somewhere to go to relax..Very quiet and peaceful.

Thermal Village Prosecco prices a total rip off. £58.00 at Thermal Village and £19.00 in room for same bottle.

16 of us headed to the Glagorm for my neices hen party. 12 were staying in the Red Oaks house and 4 in the Shepards hut. The girls staying in the Red Oaks had to pay an extra £30 each to enter the Spa. All in all the rooms are great and the staff really lovely. My gripe is the difference in the price of a bottle of Bottega Prosecco. Myself and a few other girls bought a bottle each at the Thermal Village for £58.00 for the group which I thought was really pricy but it was a hen party after all and we were there to enjoy the lovely outdoor hot facilities. When we went back to our Shepards hut room there was a price list of food and drink to get delivered. The exact same bottle of Bottega Prossecco was on there for £19.00. I was dumfunded and rang reception just incase we had been overcharged to be told we werent and its just the price they charge in the Thermal Village. Just be warned. This came as a massive shock to us and put a bit of a dampner on the weekend. I understand a bit of a price increase for those maybe spending a day in the spa without staying at the hotel but to charge residence nearly triple the price is utterly scandalous.

Make sure you get an itemised bill!! No longer worth the price for what's supposed to be a wee bit of luxury!

I'm so saddened to have to give the gorgeous Galgorm a 2 star rating. We have stayed here once before and whilst it was expensive, it was beautiful, great room etc. and a wee treat for us both. This time however our experience was grim. Check in was a 15 minute wait at reception, checked in by a member of staff who couldn't be bothered and clearly wasn't amused at having to work a Sunday. Our room was OK, furniture was tired and dated, scrapes and chunks out of it here and there. It took me a while to find the tea tray and I didn't find the milk cartons until the next day, they were stuffed in the very top at the back of the fridge! Apart from that the room was clean and comfortable but basic. The spa was great but it was extremely busy and there were some pools we couldn't get near on the Sunday. We spent a o lot of time wandering about or waiting on space to become available. We went for a mud rasul and she shower wasn't working which was not what you'd expect from a luxury hotel. Last time we went we had the same treatment and after a warm shower to wash off any excess mud, there was a bottle of essential oil to moisture with (not there this time. We had lunch at the spa which was far too expensive. A small caesar and a caprese salad with 2 iced teas cost £40. Cocktails are nothing special at £17.50 (a £2.50 increase in the last year). Room service has a delivery charge of £20 odd quid so we had dinner in Gillies. The staff were mortally offended that we only had 2 starters, a glass of wine, a cocktail and a mocktail. The food was great but the abundance of black flies in the restaurant made our dining experience a bit of a nightmare and so we didn't bother with mains or dessert. Breakfast, also in Gillies was nothing special either. The cooked breakfast was good but the continental options were bog standard and cheap quality. On checking out, another 15 minute wait, we asked for an itemised bill because something didn't seem right. We discovered we'd been charged twice for our room, having paid when we booked it a month previous. We were also surprised to discover that they charged us to fill out a form for the spa treatments. Having booked 2 seperate treatments we filled the same form (which covers all treatments) out twice resulting in a charge of £5 just for filling out forms on their ipad. There seems to have been a lot of cutbacks, just little things that make all the difference. For the most part, staff were friendly but seemed to be a bit stand offish and snotty. The friendliest people in the place were the workmen who had the decency to stand aside and give a friendly greeting when passing them in the corridors. Something the main staff didn't do at all. We felt like we were in their way if nothing else. Overall it just wasn't the luxury experience you'd expect having spent over £500 for a nights stay. We work hard for our money, owning a small business and we were really looking forward to a proper treat. Disappointing.
