The views from the balcony are incredible!

Kandyan Bluestar Villa is in the winding, hilly roads slightly away from the main city of Kandy. It’s a bit difficult to find, but as the property is so high up, the views from the balcony are incredible! The owners and staff were very helpful organising transport for us (and their tuk tuk driver was a great guy who took us all over Kandy, and even drove us all the way to Habanara in his tuk tuk at the end of our stay!). Good breakfast which included western food as well as Sri Lankan.
The rooms were very clean and decorated well. All in all a great stay!

Warning

Do not book this hotel. It doesn’t exists. When we got there after looking for it for a long time there was another name on the hotel. Even though we had payed in advance they claimed that they had a new owner hence we had to pay for our room again, this time for double the rate. We warn you, do not book this hotel!! Luckily we found another place to stay just a couple of hundred metres down the road. Amigos is a very nice place with excellent hosts.

Quiet stay with a Beautiful mountain view

Kandyan Blue Star villa
As the name suggests this is a village stay and is a very private and comfortable stay
As the villa is atop the hill at a cul-de-sac it is a quiet place and for people who seek privacy and tranquil environs this could be the paradise
The breakfast is a simple affair attended to buy an elderly attendant who assists in everything one needs
Mr Shanaka who owns the villa and runs the tourist accommodation is a prominent citizen of Kandy and is well connected to to level political establishment but is down to earth and avoid host
One should have a vehicle of their own as commuting could be an issue.
The location itself is near to important tourist places like Anuradhapura and Suzumiya etc
The rooms are small with bear minimum essentials. Balconys offer a grand view of the valley below and in the mornings is a sight to behold.
A not so expensive and a reasonable place to stay for a short holiday aisle for family outings
I shall condor to come back again to this serene villa

Don't stay here................

Advertised as a hotel but it's nothing more than a homestay. Beware the web page is locked on "luxury hotel". The owner is aggressive, hostile and arrogant, the breakfast is cold wet sausages and pre cooked, chilled and recycled omelettes and charging 10000 rupees a night. When we decided to cut short our stay he demanded we pay him the 18% commission Booking.com had charged for the reservation and got snaky when I refused. We moved to the Skyloft Hotel and it was excellent and much better value...suggest you stay there instead !!!

Very comfortable accommodation with helpful staff..

This appears to be quite a new hotel. The decor is modern and the facilities are good. We had a very enjoyable two days there. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the view over the city is stunning. The location is a little out of town but not difficult to walk down to and not too far. Would recommend to others..
