Fantastic location, excellent reception staff and good breakfast

The hotel is a great location and easy access to the lake, train station and city. We arrived early and were able to have our room immediately which was lovely. We had toured Switzerland and this was the only hotel to allow us early access, so thank you. We had a standard room which was well designed but very small shower room and not much room when opening the room door. Breakfast was very good and the reception staff fantastic. The hotel was not staffed from 5pm and we found this a bit unsettling. Everything was fine but wondered what would happen if it wasn’t. It was good value.

Great area of Zürich to walk into the city. Small, but clean rooms. Good breakfast spread. It was very warm in the room, even though they provided a mobile fan.

The check in process is just stressful. We arrived quite late and walking up the long hill from the station to the hotel left us tired and stressed. The computer check in process was just so very irritating. Despite having all the right codes etc it refused to accept our booking. There is a telephone line which we eventually saw and used. Apparently we needed to pay the city tax before we could have the room we'd paid for. The room was small. The pillows were feather. Unfortunately I'm allergic to feathers but as there were no staff to change them I ended up having an asthma attack during the night. Not sure when or if they clean the rooms but there was a potato chip behind the curtain when we arrived and it was still there when we left. On a positive note the staff who are around at breakfast were very kind and helpful. We had booked to stay on our way back through Zurich but preferred to go elsewhere and loose our money

Not For Tourists

About an 1 KM from station but not walkable as the hotel is on a steep walk up. Small room, even smaller bathroom. Poor checkin process as the system does not work for booking done through agents, room keys did not work after a day, soap dispensers in room did not work. Average breakfast

Good Value Award

Hotel located in the heart of a peaceful area, 10 minutes walk from the historic city center. Comfortable family room for a short stay. Hearty breakfast. Parking space in
reserve. Only downside, the air conditioning did not work.
