Best in class

The Alba has a superb location in middle of restaurant precinct, easy walking everywhere. I got rm #506, not too generous in size, but perfect for solo traveler. It's pretty much a standard modern room with a comfy double bed, crisp sheets, with all amenities, small desk, TV, safe, open wifi, free water - all fairly crisp & clean. A tiny balcony looks out to pedestrian street. Compact bathroom with plenty of toiletries and a nice walk-in shower.
Breakfast is available from 7am upstairs on the top floor in huge sun-lit room with reasonable views ; enormous buffet style with the usual Turkish offerings : lots of cold cheese, meats, olives and salads. No egg station, but good coffee.
The Alba offers great value for money, is convenient and I would stay again.

In a central location

The hotel is centrally located, the rooms were very small, old and poorly maintained, the bathroom was very small and the beds were a little hard. The room given to us was a crooked room, there was no lighting in the closet area. Breakfast is okay. The employees were friendly and courteous. It was a price performance hotel.

City Hotel

I would like to thank Mr. Uğur from the reception for his help and nice conversation. He is very kind and gentle. Likewise, I hope I'm not remembering wrong. Deniz Lady should not be left without comment.
I chose the standard room and liked it. The price is quite affordable for such a hotel. There is no iron in the room, which I see missing, and the lighting in the bathroom is very inadequate.
A hotel with breakfast included. The breakfast variety is very wide and I saw that hygiene rules were strictly followed.
If you go to Ankara, you can see that you will not have any accommodation problems by coming to this hotel.

Unfriendly and unwelcoming from the start. Rooms not ready by the stated time (2pm) - reluctantly allowed us to use their health spa small changing room to change our clothes. No cubicles available for privacy.
The room smelt of cigarette smoke which made me wheeze. Everytime someone flushed the toilet in rooms above me the pipes gurgled loudly. The airconditioning did not work - it would only heat the room which was already hot and the answer to our enquiry was 'open a window' which then meant the room was very noisy. Light fittings above the bedside were positional - move them slightly and the light switched off. Mould in the shower and general grime in corners. No extraction working in the shower room. Sink unclean. Breakfast included but some of the food was not fresh (bread dry for example). Coffee unpleasant. Reception staff on arrival were unhelpful but their handyman was pleasant and helpful.

Sleepless in Ankara

We stayed there in February. We had arrived late evening after an intercontinental flight with a layover. We were very tired and didn’t want to stay awake any longer. I don’t remember calling the front desk when we discovered that the AC was not working because were just so tired. We opened the window and when it was finally quiet outside (near midnight). We fell asleep. Around 2 in the morning, we awoke. The wind had changed direction and the open windows had caused a vacuum in the room. It was pulling sewer gas from our bathroom. We closed the bathroom door and that lessened the smell but that smell was in the room all night. We didn’t find the beds very comfortable. We didn’t complain to anyone the next morning.
To their credit, the front desk and hotel staff were pleasant and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
